Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toniz Collins, also known as Antonietta Gonzales-Collins in the US as well as Mexico, is a Mexican-American sportscaster. Her employer is ESPN and works as a SportsCenter anchor for news. She started working for ESPN in 2016. The daughter of TV journalist Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins is bilingual and has been since the age of nine. The ability to speak two languages helped her to get her first job with Univision, Miami. She worked as a producer for national programs such as Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. She was hired as an reporter at The CBS St. Petersburg affiliate following that. In 2009 she relocated from Texas into Rio Grande Valley where she began her news reporting for KNVO TV 48 Univision. She covered stories about immigration and drug trafficking in both Texas and Mexico. In addition, she was an anchor for weather anchors, sports anchors and forecasters. Deportes 23 was Univision Dallas affiliate, where she was able to take on more responsibility. She did pieces on the Major League Baseball's ALDS ALCS and World Series the Dallas Cowboys the NBA postseason and the NBA Finals FC Dallas and the Dallas Stars. The Univision 23 channel also produced her local sports program Accion Deportiva Extra, on which she served as anchor. She was advertised as anchor of the sports segment to Despierta America Deportes' morning show. She also played the job for Primer Impacto on UniMas Network and Contacto Deportivo for its magazine show. Antonietta's parents come from Veracruz Mexico. Eventually, they settled in Mexico City and she was born there on the 22nd of November in 1985. There is an older sister. Her family left in 1992 Mexico and moved to Miami. The couple divorced shortly after and her mother was remarried to one of the naval architects known as Fabio Fajardo who passed away from kidney cancer in 2006. In June of the year 2006, Antonietta took an entire week with her sister in Canton Ohio. The older Collins girl worked there. Antonietta was a senior in high school and was clear about the career she wanted. While deciding if Mount Union would be a good fit to her needs, Antonietta went to visit the university. In the end she was enthralled with the school. And they offered her the opportunity to study a major. After high school, she graduated and enrolled into media school at the University. Her professor Mark Bergmann, who managed WRMU FM, and was student in her class, formed an ongoing friendship with the student. Her professor urged her to be confident and was greatly moved by his enthusiasm for journalism.
