Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Gonzalez Collins is an Mexican American Sportscaster. She currently works as working as a sportscaster at ESPN, working as an anchor of SportsCenter reports and hosts SportsNation. Her first assignment with ESPN in the year 2016. She is the daughter of television journalist Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta was bilingual since her age of nine. This ability which helped her obtain her first position as a Univision production assistant in Miami. There, she collaborated with producers for national shows such as Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. In 2009, the CBS subsidiary located in St. Petersburg hired her in the following year as the sports reporter. In 2009, she moved from Texas in the Rio Grande Valley where she became a news correspondent for KNVO TV 48 Univision. The stories she covered were about the issue of immigration and trafficking drugs in both Texas as well as Mexico. In addition, she was frequently called upon to be a weather and sports anchor. While deciding if Mount Union would be a good fit to her needs, Antonietta visited the university. She discovered that she liked the campus as well as the fact that it had the program she desired. Following the completion of her high school education she was accepted into the university to study media studies. Her professor Mark Bergmann, who managed WRMU FM and was a student in her class, formed an ongoing friendship with her. His passion for journalism and her self-confidence inspired her. She in turn attempted to live up to the standards he set and to not let him down.
