Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Collins is an Mexican American journalist. She is currently employed by ESPN as a news anchor for SportsCenter as well as occasionally hosting SportsNation. She began her career at ESPN in the year 2016. Her mother is TV reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins is bi-lingual and has been since when she was nine years old. The ability to speak two languages helped her to get her first job with Univision, Miami. Antonietta Collins' grandparents were born in Veracruz Mexico. The family relocated to Mexico City where she was born on November 22 1985. She has a sister. In 1992, the family left Mexico for the US and settled in Miami. The couple divorced shortly thereafter and, in 1995, she was married an naval designer by the name of Fabio Fajardo. Fabio Fajardo died in 2006 of kidney cancer. The summer of the year 2006, Antonietta spent an entire week with her sister at Canton Ohio. The older Collins girl was employed at the time. At the time of her senior year in high school and yet having a clear vision of what she wanted to do with her life Antonietta went to her local University of Mount Union to determine if the school was suitable for her requirements. It turned out that she loved the school and the university offered the major she was looking for. When she completed her high school education, she was accepted into the university to study media studies. Mark Bergmann - her professor was also the station managing director at WRMU (91.1 FM), where she belonged. He encouraged her to believe in herself and his enthusiasm in journalism was a huge influence on her. She in turn, strived to live up to the expectations of him and not fail him.
