Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Tonite Gonzalez-Collins is a Mexican-American sportscaster. She is the host of SportsNation and serves as a SportsCenter anchor. Since 2016, Collins has was a part of ESPN. Her mother is television reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta was bilingual by her age of nine. This ability which helped her obtain her first position as an Univision production assistant in Miami. There, she was a producer for national shows such as Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. The next position she was offered was an Sports Reporter for The CBS St. Petersburg Affiliate. In 2009 she relocated from Texas in the Rio Grande Valley where she began her news reporting at KNVO TV 48 Univision. She covered stories about the issue of immigration and trafficking drugs throughout Texas and Mexico. Her duties as an anchor on sports and weather was regularly demanded. Deportes 23 was Univision Dallas affiliate where she took on additional duties. She produced pieces about Major League Baseball's ALDS ALCS and World Series the Dallas Cowboys the NBA postseason as well as the Finals FC Dallas and the Dallas Stars. Also, she produced Univision 23's local sports channel Accion Deportiva Extra, on where she was anchor. She was a host of sports for the morning show of Despierta America Deportes. The anchor also worked in similar roles on the magazine program of the network Primer Impacto and for UniMas Network's Contacto Deportivo. Antonietta Collins was born and raised in Veracruz Mexico. They eventually settled in Mexico City and she was born there on November 22 the 22nd of November, 1985. There is an older sister. There is an older sibling. Soon after, her parents separated and in the year 1995, Fabio Fajardo was remarried. He died from kidney cancer in 2006. In June of the year 2006, Antonietta took one week with her sibling in Canton Ohio. The older Collins girl worked at the time. Antonietta was a senior in high school but she was clear about the career she wanted. While deciding if Mount Union is the right choice for her, Antonietta decided to go visit the university. Then she was enthralled with the campus. And they offered her an academic major. When she completed her high school education, she enrolled in the university to study media studies. The relationship she formed was long-lasting with her professor Mark Bergmann who was the manager for WRMU 91.1 FM, of which she was an affiliate. Mark Bergmann inspired her to be self-confident and his enthusiasm for journalism deeply influenced her, and she was determined to meet his expectations and never failed him.
